Farmhouse Chef Jamie's Soy Ginger Trout Recipe

2 Sunburst Trout Fillets
2 tablespoons fresh grated ginger
3 tablespoons Steen’s Cane Syrup
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon black pepper
¼ cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon canola oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut in 6 thin slices

Mix cane syrup, soy sauce, ginger, garlic and pepper together to make a marinade. Pour all over your fish fillets and marinate up to one hour.

Set up broiler rack in your oven and set broiler to medium high heat.

On your stove top, use an oven safe skillet or frying pan and heat the canola oil (put just enough oil in pan to cover the bottom). When oil is good and hot, take fish fillets out of the marinade and put in the pan, skin side down. Cook until the trout flesh starts to get light pink in the center and remove from heat.

Arrange the butter slices evenly along each fillet and transfer pan to oven under the broiler. Broil under medium high heat until fish is done – about 5 minutes.

Serve with rice and sautéed greens!

Fresh Hardneck Garlic Bulbs, New Crop, 2 bulbs
LOCAL, CHEMICAL FREE
Heirloom Hardneck Garlic is not your normal grocery store garlic. It is closer to wild garlic, with more pungent and complex flavors. Hardnecks do not store as long as softnecks—which why you don't see them in stores. The bulbs are dry but not fully cured so it should be used within a few weeks. You get two bulbs in each order.
